I am very happy to see that you are trying to improve Happy Meals by making them healthier. Unfortunately, I think this effort has failed.
Have you tasted those "apples"? I'm not even sure how you can call them apples in the first place. They taste like Styrofoam. My children, who are not picky eaters, will not eat them. They are gross. What ever you put on them so that they don't turn brown must suck every bit of deliciousness from them.
There are so many healthy options you could have gone with. Here is a list of my suggestions:
- Carrot sticks
- Apple sauce (this even comes in a pouch to keep from making a mess)
- Apple chips
- Raisins
- Sugar snap peas
- Dried cranberries
- Other dried fruit
Please consider changing your healthy addition to something a child will actually eat, instead of just throwing away. Help prove to kids that the healthy addition to their meal can taste just as good as the rest of it.
